Perhaps she was putting secret amounts of lard in your food. Cooking will be good for you. Just make up a big stash of vegies and keep it in the fridge and then just draw on it for meals.

You might just be replacing fat for muscle which weighs more. Go by your photos more than the scales.
Hear, hear on both counts. As Tracey said, just get a huge stash of steamed veg in the fridge. Also last week I grilled 6 chicken breasts. Since then found out that is too many. But, all week I have either added that to the veg and heated up, or used cold in salads. Same with roast chicken, roast beef etc. It just means that you need to be a lot more organised. If you can get raw tuna, another easy protein option without having to cook.
